Journal #8
I don't have big plans for the summer. Of course work is in the plan, I wish I could eliminate it for the summer so I could enjoy my two girls. I will be taking two classes in the summer semister online. I am looking forward to the chance to be home a little more than I have been this semister. We are planning a vacation hopefully we will be going to North Carolina. We went last year with the my family and had a blast. I'm looking forward to walking on the beach with my daughters and collecting shells with them.

What makes me happy? I have so many things in my life to be happy about. The fact that I have food on the table in this crazy economy that we live in today. Very happy that my husband and I have jobs.Thankful that I have a roof over my head even when it's not the home of my dreams. I'm happy that my husband, children and family are healthy and not sick in a hospital. I'm happy I'm still married to my husband after fourteen years and happier than I was the day we married. There are so many things to be happy about but sometimes I lose focus on those things because I have my eyes on bigger and better things.

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
About two year ago I went through a financial hardship. It was one of the hardest times in my life but I do not regret it. It changed my thinking about somethings that has changed my life forever. I never want to be in that situation again but I'm so glad I learned from it.

Journal #5
I've found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! I would start with a much needed vacation for my family. Somewhere that has a beach and warm weather. I would also pay off any debts that we owe and then pay cash for me a nice car. I would also make sure that I have enough left to set aside for savings. If my pot of gold had enough I would buy myself a new home, maybe in North Carolina or Florida. Then I would keep the rest for a raining day.

Journal #4
This was my very first time blogging. I enjoyed hearing others views and thoughts on the subjects of the Great Depression and recycling. It did make me think about trying to start recyling. It was very interesting listening to others strongley incourage recyling and their opion that everyone has time to have your own gardens. This assignment was fun and useful to apply these issues to everday life. It was at times hard to make comments to different members comments with a limited amount of group members, some making very short comments to resond to.

"America loves the Olympics because we get to go to war with everyone at once." (Stephen Colbert)
Of course this is one persons view of why Americans love the Olympics. I'm sure we could find many that would agree with his view, but no all. Some just love the thrill of winning. I believe there is alot of pride in anyone that win metals in the Olympics, winning is a great reward for all the diligent hard work they had put in to accieve such athelitic ablilties. I think we all enjoy seeing someone from our country recieving that award.

Journal Entry 1
Martin Luther King was an inspirational speaker. He grabs the attention of his listeners with his points. He states his points of the situation at that time and then gives you a statement of his beliefs of what it can be.
"It is obvious today that America has defaulted on the promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check that has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of the nation." (Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. "I have a dream" Aug. 28, 1963)"
His speech gives hope still today because at that time of the speech his dream seemed unattainable to most but it did happen. And we see what a great difference he made today. So his speech has great influence still today that every one's dream may be attainable.

Journal #2
If i was a winner of two airline tickets I think I would go to Costa Rica. I would chose to take my husband along with me. I have never traveled outside of the country and would like to experience a different culture. I would chose Costa Rica because from what I've seen from pictures it looks like an amazing place. My sister in law was there for three years and she had some amazing photos of some of the water falls that she went to and they were breath taking.
